The Hofmann lab is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic masters level students to start immediately. The student will be involved in a study examining the changes in physiological properties when brain tissue is cultured ex-vivo for extended periods of time. Ideal candidates would have an interest in cellular neurophysiology and prior experience is an added advantage. The project would involve immunohistochemical processing of neuronal tissue along with microscopy and quantification. Opportunities for co-authorship is possible. To apply, send a CV/resume and a brief email introduction indicating skills, training and software knowledge to Vidhya Ravi (vidhya.ravi@uniklinik-freiburg.de)

Master Thesis: in-vivo Electrophysiology
The Hofmann lab is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic masters level students to start immediately. The student will be involved in the acquisition and analysis of electrophysiological data acquired over a defined time span using novel electrophysiology probes. The ideal candidate should have previously worked with neuronal signal acquisition and processing. Opportunities for co-authorship is possible. To apply, send a CV/resume and a brief email introduction indicating skills, training and software knowledge to Kevin Joseph (kevin.joseph@uniklinik-freiburg.de)

Master Thesis: Microfluidics-based brain implantation
The Hofmann lab is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic masters level students to start immediately. The student will be involved in modeling, design, and fabrication of a novel brain implantation device. The ideal candidate should ideally have previously worked with FEM modeling, microfluidic design and fabrication.  Opportunities for journal article authorship is possible. To apply, send a CV/resume and a brief email introduction indicating skills, training and software knowledge to Ulrich Hofmann (ulrich.hofmann@coregen.uni-freiburg.de)
